Yoga Journal
Maya Yoga teachers Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini like music that speaks to the yogic precept of ahimsa (nonharming). "We play artists who sing about the kinds of things that we teach in our yoga classes," says Doane, "like being tolerant, being loving, and being more conscientious humans who want to take care of the planet."
With the music pumping, the couple tries to facilitate connections between body and breath. "The music relaxes people," says Doane. "And then the yoga pushes them deeper into their experience." - ERICA RODEFER
